Joe Van Gogh Art Show 2012: Cafe Culture
More than a place to get a decent cup of coffee, cafes have been and still are meeting places of artists, intellectuals, philosophers, professors, students and all those who seek to be a part of the most vibrant cultures that exist in any given locale. Cafe culture, as we know it now, was rich, creative and varied in Paris during the last years of the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century. The art in this show is my attempt to honor and commemorate some of the many people who lived and worked and played in Paris during those decades.
